A few weeks ago I had my audition with Benefit
Cosmetics (unfortunately didn’t get the job) at Debenham’s in White City. I
arrived quite early and had some free time on my hands which I used to walk
round and learn my way round the shop to avoid getting lost later. However,
temptation got the best of me and I did take a look at what the other counters
had to offer, and of course that inspired me to make another high end beauty
wishlist.

TUTORIAL: Colourful Eyes
It may be only the beginning of spring here in
London, but in my mind it is already time for the beach. That would be the only
logical reason why I decided to use these colours on my eyes. It is definitely
something I hadn’t tried in quite some time, but I think it turned out quite
well!
Products used:
- L’Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream, Light to Medium Skin
- Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, shade 54
- Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, True Ivory
- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Fair
- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, Translucent
- Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing powder, 52
- Natural Collection blush, Dusky Pink
- Urban Decay Primer Potion, Eden
- Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold and Metallic Pomegranate
- Mod’s Hair Palette (colours used shown below)
- Rimmel Glam Eyes Eye Shadow Quad, Bold Behaviour
- Oriflame eye pencil in electric blue
- L’Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim
- Barry M brown kohl pencil
- Maybelline The Rocket Mascara
- Burt’s Bees Replenishing lip balm
- L’Oreal Collection Privée Lipstick, Julianne’s Nude
- Model Co lip gloss, Striptease
After moisturizing my face, I primed my eyelids
and applied the Pink Gold Colour Tattoo all over my lid and Metallic
Pomegranate on the lower lash line. From the Mod’s Hair palette, I patted on
Shade 1 on top of the Pink Gold, focusing mainly on the centre and outer part.
Mixing Shade 2 and 3, I applied them on my outer corner and with a clean brush
I blended them out into the crease. If you would like a more intensified look,
take either one of those shadows and gently pat it in the crease and outer edge
of the eye, but make sure to keep blending so that there are no harsh lines. On
a smaller blending brush dust a little bit of your bronzer to your crease to
get a more natural finish to your smoky eye.
Taking the electric blue shadow, apply it to
your inner corner and blend with the purple. Line the inner part of your lower
lash line with the pencil in the same colour and. If you feel like it’s going
to smudge or you want a more intense look, pat the shadow on top of the pencil.
Using Shade 1 from the Mod’s Hair palette line the centre and with shades 2 and
3 line the outer edge of the lower lash line, blending the colours into each
other to get a gradient effect. Line the upper lash line with a thin liquid
eye liner and move on to the face.
I primed my face with the Blur cream and let it
set for a couple of minutes before applying my foundation. Using the Lasting
Perfection concealer I got rid of my dark circles and with the Wake Me up I
covered up all my blemishes and scars. I set everything with the pressed powder
and lightly applied bronzer and blush. I went back to my eyes and put a
generous coat of mascara. I finished up by using the Julianne’s Nude lipstick
paired up with Models Co. lip gloss, which is my new favourite
combination ever.
Let me know if you liked this look and
definitely show me if you tried to recreate it!

REVIEW: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
Thank you Boots for your generous offers! At
the beginning of the month I went a little crazy on the lipsticks and bought
about five. One of them was the Revlon Super Lustrous in Cherries in The Snow.
This is one of the most beautiful colours I have ever seen and the formula is
so amazing that it makes me go and buy all of the other shades in the range.

REVIEW: L'Oreal Collection Privée Lipstick
After years of searching and buying products I
would later regret, I finally found the perfect nude lipstick! Obviously, I
can’t stop wearing it and I will be really sad once I run out of it (I think it’s
limited edition). It’s the L’Oreal Collection Privée in Julianne’s nude.

The Face Of Spring
Spring is finally here! Now we can say goodbye
to the heavy coverage foundations and concealers and hello to the sheer bases
and rosy cheeks. This is my favourite time of the year because everything looks
so green and happy and it smells so fresh that you just can’t help but to smile
and enjoy life.

REVIEW: Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation
I have been quite adventurous when it comes to
my face base for the past few months. If I had this blog a year ago, you’d know
that the only thing I used as a sort of a foundation was a mix of Garnier and
Maybelline BB creams, because anything else used to make my skin very shiny.
Now I have a few different products that I tend to reach for when doing my
make-up and I love each of them.

REVIEW: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon
After many
trips to Boots and a big line of lipstick swatches on my hand and arm, I
finally got myself the perfect Revlon Lip Butter for me. Now I am wondering why
I didn’t get this sooner.

Nails Of The Week: Nude
Lately I
have been feeling very uninspired (which you might have noticed by the lack of
posts for a whole week) and this showed in my make-up and nails, too. Last week
I kept my nails bare just to give them a little rest. I was also a bit fed up
with the usual reds and pinks I go for, so this week I decided to keep my nails
quite toned down and fresh.

March Beauty Haul
Every lady
needs to treat herself once in a while, right? Well, this lady right here
treats herself all the time. Since there have been a lot of offers going on in
both Boots and Superdrug, I just couldn’t neglect them and not take advantage.
I ended up buying most of the things that I had had my eye on for quite a while and I
am very happy with everything so far.

Real Life Photoshop: L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream and Seventeen Matte Radiance CC Cream Review
I caved in and put a stop to my spending ban.
Naturally I went to Boots and took advantage of the amazing offers they had. I
ended up getting three face products and three things for my hair. I was very
excited to try all three of the make-up bits and just because I haven’t seen
any reviews about them from other bloggers, I decided to write one myself.

Spring Fever: A Different Lookbook
A few days
ago I rediscovered my early teenage love – Polyvore. Ever since then I have
been making sets non-stop (you can even see some of them in my previous blog post). I thought that this could be a very easy and fun way to show you a few
looks that I think would be great for the upcoming spring.

It's All About MASCARA
If you ask a girl to choose only three make-up
products to use for the rest of her life, there is a big chance that mascara is
going to be one of them. It is a logical decision, though; on lazy days when
the only going out for me is food shopping, I don’t even bother with concealer
or lipstick. Good mascara can widen your eyes and make them look bigger and
more awake, which makes it the perfect go-to product when you’re not feeling
like making an effort for your face.

Face Of The Day: Gold Dust
Ever since I got
the Naked 3, I haven't been able to stop trying out different looks with it
(you can see my previous tutorial here). I am a big fan of gold eye shadow
which is why Trick is one of my favorites in the set and I decided to use it as
a base for this look.
Nails Of The Week: Shiny Bright Red
In my desperate attempts to be creative with my
nails, and by that I mean use colours I don’t normally use, I had completely
neglected my all-time favourite bright red. That’s why I decided it’s time I
change that, so I took one of my red polishes and painted my nails with it.

Beauty Wishlist 2: I can but I really shouldn't
Ever since
I went on a spending ban two weeks ago, I stopped being up to date with the
offers in the the beauty shops. However, tonight I decided to go on the Boots
website and saw that they are doing 3 for 2 on a lot of make-up and
accessories. At first I felt an overwhelming urge to buy everything I had ever
wanted, but somehow I managed to pick only three products.

Face Of The Day: Naked Three
Yesterday I
received one of the most generous gifts ever, the Naked 3 palette. My rose gold
obsession started with this and now that I have it, I am over the moon and I
had to try it out as soon as possible. At first I was a bit hesitant when I saw
how pink it actually is, but after I was done with the look I saw how soft and
natural it all was.

Sunday - Funday
After what
was probably the most uneventful week of my life (which is why I barely posted
anything last week), I decided that I should at least spend the only sunny day
outside of my room. I knew that one of my best friends that lives in Central
London hasn't been to Regents Park and Primrose Hill, which happen to be two of
my favourite places in the whole world, so I called her and suggested that we
go there for a long walk. I was so glad when she said yes that I spent the rest
of the day planning out where we would go and what we would do. Naturally most
of that didn’t happen, but we had an amazing day nonetheless!

Nails Of The Week: Mocha
After rediscovering my pink matte nail polish
last week, I couldn’t help but to go and buy a couple of more polishes like
that. Since one of the colours is something I would normally wear (burgundy), I
decided to be adventurous this time and try something new.

Superdrug Face Masks Review
On my last
visit to Superdrug (you can check out the haul here) I picked up three face
masks from the shop’s own brand. What a surprise, I bought face masks. Over the
past week I have tried all of them and here are my thoughts on their
quality.

Face of the day: Daytime Green Smokey Eyes
The other
day I did a Face Of The Day tutorial, which I quite enjoyed writing, so today I
decided to show you how I got my wearable daytime smokey eye. I have always
found the combination of beige, brown and green to be absolutely beautiful,
both in clothes and make-up. I wore a cream jumper, dark jeans and a pair of
nude wedge ankle boots, so I thought that a brownish green eye make-up would go
perfectly with my outfit.

Weekly Beauty Favourites
For the past week as well as using my usual
products, I have tried to incorporate some things in my routine from my beauty
collection that I had neglected for a while. Turns out I have some hidden gems
there and they ended up in my weekly favoutites. Here are what I have been
loving the past week:
Tuesday 4 February 2014
Face Of The Day: Eyes Full Of Shimmer
Lately I have been less afraid to experiment
with my eye make-up. Usually I just put a matte brown eye shadow all over my
lid and add a few coats of mascara and I’m good to go. Now I have been playing
more with shimmery shadows on my upper eyelid, as well as my lower lash line,
and have also started using more liquid eyeliner too.
Today I felt inspired by the sunny weather and wore
only shimmery shadows on my eyes, black liquid eyeliner and a hint of red on my
lips.
Nails Of The Week: Matte Neon Pink
I was going through my nail polish collection
yesterday and I came across a beautiful matte bright pink colour. I realized
that I have worn it only once or maybe twice for the whole year I’ve owned it,
so I decided it’s time that I took off the shimmery dark red and put on this
one. I went back to short nails because the long ones made it hard for me to do
basically anything and they were also getting very brittle and that made my
nail polish barely last for two or three days. Hopefully now they are going to
be in a better condition because I am very excited for this colour!

A cheeky Superdrug Haul
I went shopping. Again. It’s a good thing I don’t
spend that much money on food, otherwise I would be in a lot of trouble.
The reason why I went in Superdrug was to just
buy a deodorant and possibly body lotion, but I got out with so much more than
that. In addition to my Nivea Sensitve&Pure Anti-Perspirant and the new Vaseline Spray & Go moisturizerin Aloe Vera (which is actually very nice and perfect for a lazy person like me),
I got an eyeliner, three face masks and a set of Real Techniques brushes.

Nails Of The Week: Volcanic Red
I must
admit I get bored of my nail polish pretty quickly. This week I chose a dark shimmery colour,
something I haven’t done in a while and I think it turned out pretty well.

My Skincare Routine
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
A couple of months ago I reaslied that I am not
going to stay nineteen forever and my skin won’t look as good as it does now.
Ever since that day I have been taking extra good care of it and have
definitely noticed the good results. I have had much less breakouts than usual,
my T-zone isn’t as oily as it used to be and my foundation doesn’t feel cakey
because my skin is in a better condition.
My morning routine is pretty simple. I mostly
just splash some water on my face to freshen up and then apply some of my
Bioten Refreshing Tonic Lotion. It leaves my skin feeling quite hydrated, so I
usually skip the moisturizer and move on to doing my make-up, if I am going to
be wearing any that day.

Favourite Red Lip Products
If you know me, then you know how much I love
red lip products. Chances are that if I am wearing something on my lips, it’s a
shade of red. Even my lip balms have a red tint to them. So that is why I decided to share with you my
favourite red lip products.
The Burt’s Bees replenishing lip balm with
pomegranate oil is one of my all-time favourite lip balms. It smells amazing,
looks good on its own, because it accentuates my natural lip colour, and
hydrates my lips, making them the perfect base for any lipstick I want to put
on top of it.
A recent addition to my favourites
is the Vaseline red lip tint in Paint The Town Red. This one I tend to use more
on its own rather than as a base. It gives my lips a beautiful glossy finish,
while hydrating them at the same time; smells delicious (don’t eat it though,
it definitely doesn’t taste good!) and doesn’t break the bank. Unfortunately,
it is limited edition, but since the tin is big enough to last ages, or at
least until they come up with something just as good.
The Barry M lip liner is an essential product
for me, especially when I’m trying to achieve a bright red matte lip. It is
quite soft, so it sometimes tends to smudge a little, but I have found that I
gently patting a lipstick on top of it with my finger keeps that to a minimum.
My favourite dark red lipstick has to be
Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Matte by Kate in 107 Rosetto. What I love about it is
that even though it’s a matte lipstick, it doesn’t dry out my lips. I can get
away with wearing it during the day by applying it very gently and then
softening it out with my finger. I have never repurchased a lipstick before
just because I have never loved one enough to finish it, but this one is so
amazing that I just have to. It is also very affordable, which is always a big
plus!
I can’t have a favourite dark matte lipstick
without having a favourite bright one and for me that is the Bourjoius Rouge
Edition lipstick in the colour 13. I can’t say much about it, except that it is
absolutely gorgeous. At first I found it a bit hard to work with because it was
the first bold lipstick that I had ever bought, but eventually I got used to
it. It glides on so smoothly on my lips, doesn’t dry them out and stays on for
hours! It’s one of the best things that has happened to my lips, but I wouldn’t
expect anything less from Bourjois.
My last favourite lipstick is something I got a
couple of weeks ago, but it is one that I have been eying for months. It’s the
Bourjois Shine Edition lipstick in the colour 23. It has a beautiful glossy
finish and is quite buildable. I usually do the same as I do with my Rimmel
one, apply a thin layer and soften it with my finger. This colour is perfect for
spring as well because of the berry tones in it.
(From top to bottom: Bourjois Shine 23, Bourjois Rouge 13, Rimmel 107, Barry M lip liner)
So there you have it, my favourite red lip
products. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for me!

DIY Acrylic Nails
While I was
browsing through the Hair and Beauty category on Pinterest, I stumbled upon a very interesting post, which showed how to achieve acrylic nails at home. It
looked promising and people reviewed it positively, so naturally I ran to the
nearest shop and got the supplies.
Even though
it is the middle of January, I decided to go for a bright pink nail polish. I
thought it would contrast beautifully with my style, which lately has consisted
mostly of black.
· Flormar Neon Colors in N012 (Turkish brand, unfortunately not available in the UK)
· Sally Hansen No Chip top coat
After applying one coat of the Hard as Wraps, I let it dry for about five minutes. Then I proceeded with two coats of the Flormar polish and finished off with one layer of the top coat. I personally love this colour and wear it all throughout the year. It is perfect for the summer months because it compliments tanned skin beautifully.
Now, I
don’t know if my nail polish will last as long as acrylic nails do, but even if
it manages to stay on for a whole week, I would consider it a big win. My nails
definitely look very shiny and sleek and I love the luxurious finish they have.
The best part is that the base and top coat are quite affordable, which is why
I definitely recommend this method to everybody. Enjoy your beautiful nails,
ladies!

Welcome!
Hello everyone
and welcome to my blog.
After
putting it off for quite some time, I finally decided to sit down and write my
first post. I suppose you could call this a New Year’s resolution, which I
kept.
I intend to
make this blog mostly beauty and lifestyle related, but there eventually might
be other themed posts as well.
I hope you
enjoy it and I will see you very soon.
